Arseblog: Thursday 20th October 2005

october 20th

Some good news to start your morning and that’s José’s ribs. They’re not fractured, as first feared, just badly bruised so he’s not going to be out for as long as we thought. According to Arsenal.con his absence will be short term.
Relative to what I don’t know but good news nonetheless.

Thierry talks about breaking the record and how he was never even meant to travel to Prague with Nicklas Bendtner pencilled in as cover. He said “I was not meant to travel then I was not meant to play. I was not really ready to come on either to be honest. I said to the boss give me five minutes but he said you can’t because Jose has to come off straight away.”

Glad he did though. He also, according to the article, took the intercom on the flight home to thank all his team-mates and he hasn’t forgotten some of the older ones too, saying “In my six years at the Club I would like mention all my team-mates. People like Dennis, Patrick, Manu Petit and Marc Overmars. These are the guys who have given me the passes. All I have had to do is put the ball in the back of the net. This would not have happened that quickly without them.”

Yes, ‘all’ he had to do was put the ball in the back of the net. Bob Wilson on Thierry. And there’s plenty more around the newsfeeds, go look. I’m too tired to put it into any context.

To commemorate Thierry’s great achievement you can download a couple of wallpapers (cheers to Ricey for sourcing the pics). Thierry Henry 186 goal wallpaper in 1024×768 and 1280×800.

Not a lot else happening. The world has gone Thierry crazy.
