Arseblog: Sunday 28th August 2005

August 28th

Well, if you thought there was nothing going on yesterday wait till you get a load of today. I have scoured the newspapers and newsfeeds, checked the Spanish papers and this is all I can come up with:

1 – The People says we’re after ex-Derby keeper Mart Poom and will offer Justin Hoyte to Sunderland on loan in exchange. They also run a two line story about how Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry have purchased one of the executive boxes each at the new stadium.

And that’s it. I’d have thought there’d be more going on ahead of the transfer deadline on Wednesday, particularly as we are, according to the boss, actively ‘chasing’ a player. Surely those lazy journos could have made up something a bit more interesting than Mart Poom. Imagine if we did sign him though – he and Hleb could terrify the opposition with their unspeakable beauty.

Hopefully there’ll be something happening tomorrow.

Update: Thanks to Arsers Red Dread for this piece about how minted we are and to Spongebobcuntface (heh) for this one about how Arsene Wenger thinks signing a new contract is not a priority for Thierry Henry.
