Arsecast Extra Episode 621 – 13.01.2025

Welcome to another Arsecast Extra, the Arsenal podcast, with myself and James from @gunnerblog.

In this episode we look back at the FA Cup third round penalty shoot-out defeat to Man Utd on Sunday. We discuss the first half injury to Gabriel Jesus, the goal we conceded, the red card for Dalot, and how Arsenal had the chances to win the game but couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net with Odegaard and Havertz especially culpable in that sense. We also analyse the penalty shoot-out which didn’t go our way, assess the mood after two cup defeats in a week, before we talk about Mikel Arteta’s post-game comments and then answer listener questions about our style of play, the need for January business if Jesus is injured long-term, how the summer signings should be viewed now that we’re 6 months into the season, shooting power, and lots more besides.
