Welcome to another episode of the Arsecast – the Arsenal podcast.
Better a bit late than never, I’m joined by Phil Costa to re-live the 5-1 win over Sporting in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. We reflect on a dominant first half performance, with collective and individual brilliance putting us into a commanding half-time lead thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Gabriel. The home side got one back, and their fans started whistling for a bit, but Arsenal responded with two more to ensure the win was as emphatic as it deserved to be. We chat about Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, as well as the strength and impact from the bench, what this win says about the team and how it’s perceived in Europe, and loads more.
