Well, that was fun, wasn’t it?
I understand Blogger was at the right hand side (as us commoners were watching on TV), so all the action was at the other end. It’s always the way, isn’t it? Inconsiderate cunts, the lot of them. I feel for Blogger. I really do. And no, I don’t *feel* him, you dirty cunts. I feel *for* him.
Anyway, definitely a game of two halves, as that cunt once said. It was all them in the first half. Marcos Senna, who I wish we’d bought earlier in his career, scored a fantastic goal after 10 minutes and we were most definitely on the back foot. In all honesty (and other Clichys), it was a great strike, but the defence was nowhere. Song probably should’ve closed Senna down, but his shot was in the top corner and the goalie had no chance – which clearly pissed him off big time. Shortly afterwards, Almunia was clattered by some cunt when he was trying to clear and just wasn’t right afterwards. He had to go off, replaced by Fabianski who immediately had to make a good double save to deny some other cunt.
Even before that, Villarreal were all over us, and should’ve scored from a corner where they somehow had two players unmarked and Clichy sort of cleared off the line and Almunia somehow managed to pick it up, bravely taking a kick in the face.
Then Gallas had to go off after Denilson (I think) tackled some cunt and he fell on top of Gallas. On the replays on the TV it looked really bad for Gallas, and he had to be stretchered off, only to return with some ten minutes to go, but he was clearly struggling. He did as well as he could, but he had to be subbed just before half time, Djourou coming on in his place. Cesc had a free kick in the back of the net only for the ref to book Cesc for taking it too quickly. The ref probably wouldn’t have got out of El Madrigal alive had he given it. I thought the ref did pretty well otherwise.
The second half was a totally different game. We had pretty much all of the ball and all the action was on the left hand side of my TV (sorry, Blogger). We were really pressing and in control, and the goal, as excellently taken as it was, was well deserved, Cesc lofting a long ball over the defence to Adebayor who took the ball on his chest and turned and fired it over his own shoulder in at the far post with an overhead shot. Though not quite as spectacular, as a goal it was really up there with the best he’s scored, like the one against those spud loving cunts. Top goal. Loved the celebrations with Cesc pushing him and saying “who’s the man?”. Nice.
We had a few more chances, and certainly dominated the rest of the half, but 1-1 was probably a fair result on balance. As I said, the ref did pretty well, I thought, not buying the shit from the Villarreal players trying to get Cesc sent off for what was a run of the mill challenge. Was good to see Bob Pires too – he’s still got it. We do love you, Le Bob. Thanks for not scoring and stuff. Frankly, I was glad he didn’t start because he looked dangerous, with his familiar clever passing.
So, that’s your lot. It’s been my pleasure, as always. Fortunately I don’t have to call for a lynching of every Irishman you see in Spain today (though, seeing as I have the opportunity, maybe I should just get the job done?).
One all is a good result, and it was very important to score away from home. As always. Villarreal have to score at our place, which certainly isn’t beyond them, but you’d have taken a score draw before the game.
Until next time.
