It’s a very quiet and wet Sunday morning, so it is, and there really isn’t a great deal to tell you.
There’s all the Thierry Henry stuff which, as far as anyone can tell, is just pure speculation. There’s nothing concrete other than Barcelona’s interest and I just cannot see Arsenal selling Thierry Henry this summer. You don’t try and improve the balance of your team by selling your best striker, especially when you’re unlikely to reinvest all the cash you get in a similar player. And frankly, how do you replace a player like Thierry Henry?
The only way I can see Henry leave the club is if Barcelona want him so badly they offer Eto’o as part of the deal. Then it would be considered but as a straight cash purchase I just won’t happen.
Cesc was on the bench for Spain last night as they beat Latvia 2-0.
Dein and Ashley – what a combination. It’s true, some bloke called Mike Ashley is trying to buy Newcastle and he wants the Tangoman to be the Chief Executive. Then Dein will sneakily get Kroenke to buy 9.9% of the club and it’ll all be fun and games again.
And that’s as much as there is. I’m off to play 5-a-side now shortly and I’m a bit tired and achy. I think I’ll play sweeper, not much running involved then.
Talk to you tomorrow, have a good Sunday.
