A big day of football today and we all know the importance of today’s game. There hasn’t been any further news about Thierry or Robin and I’m not sure what way to interpret the silence. I’d be very surprised to see Henry but van Persie might be a possibility.
If the pair of them are out I’d like to see Baptista and Adebayor together up front rather than a 4-5-1 but I think that’s what might happen. The only other decision the manager has to make is who to play on the right hand side. I have a feeling he’ll go with Freddie ahead of Hleb.
A quote from Arsene Wenger in the Observer says it all:
You never win the championship if you lose against Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool. You can forget it.
True words and our record against United has been particularly poor in recent games. Time for that to change, please. Today’s game, result and performance, will tell us a lot about this team and this squad.
A quick round up of the Sunday papers for you now.
Thierry Henry tells the News of the World the young players need to step up and do their bit because he can’t do it all.
Gilberto says we have to kill United today. Sounds reasonable.
William Gallas seems to be very happy with his move to Arsenal because he can’t stop talking about it. This time it’s the Telegraph and he sings the praises of the youngsters he’s been training with calling them ‘fantastic’ and ‘unbelievable’. He’s also confident ahead of today’s game saying:
I just feel we will get the victory
Hurrah. I have a strange feeling about today too. I think we’re going to get a result. Or it could be last night’s bbqed ribs repeating on me.
Come on you goooooooooners. Till tomorrow.
