Arseblog: Monday 17th October 2005

october 17th

Monday morning and not much has happened since Saturday’s defeat against West Brom. The team will be preparing for their trip to Prague and we await injury news. I read somewhere, but I can’t find it now, that the boss said that Gilberto might be the only one of the players out to be back for tomorrow’s Champions League game. Obviously we’ll wait for confirmation but if Robin van Persie doesn’t make it then we’re short up front with Dennis Bergkamp not playing. If that was the case I’d love to see Lupoli or Bendtner get a chance up front ahead of Quincy (who has never convinced me he’s worth a place ahead of the two goal machines and who might even get a chance in midfield with Freddie out).

There’s some guff in the papers this morning about Sp*rs being better than us all of a sudden. Jermaine Jenas has been mouthing as has manager Martin Jol. Go find it for yourselves, I’m not linking to it.

Ray Parlour – “Next season you will see a big change again. Arsene Wenger is a fantastic manager – he knows what he is doing and I’m sure he has got a plan. I’ve never played under a better manager than Arsene and it doesn’t make you a bad manager overnight if you have a few bad results”

Thank you, Ray. Other than that nothing to report. No doubt we’ll get more news from the injury list later on. Now, it’s off to work I go.
