21.52 – A spot of Arsenal news. Alex Manninger, who spent the season on loan at Fiorentina, is attracting the interest of Espanyol, the ‘other’ team in Barcelona. They have apparently made a bid of around £600,000.

Leaving aside the rights and wrongs of the Roy Keane affair, they’ve demonstrated a total lack of competence in terms of looking after the facilities for the squad – and as a further demonstration of how the Football Association of Ireland works, as soon as Roy Keane left the squad, the players were flying economy class again.
