Sunday blather. Yeah, well you try it.

Hello.

It’s very quiet this morning and last night I ensured that the great state of Kentucky would continue to exist as an economic force by drinking almost all of their product. Me and Mrs Blogs were out for dinner with the Mugsmasher and the Blogfather and as we were leaving the restaurant the Blogfather asked the waitress if she was from Dublin.

She said that she was from a different county altogether and it turns out I used to live in her home town, working on a radio station down there.

“Cor blimey”, she probably didn’t say but I can’t remember her exact expression of feigned interest. “It was a friend of mine’s father who owned the radio station.”

“Who was that?” I asked.

“Mr Barlow,” she said.

“Oh,” I replied, deadly seriously. “He was quite evil indeed!”

From her face I soon gathered that she had never seen or read Salem’s Lot. A bit of a shame really, but then I came home and played FIFA 14 against the Mugsmasher as we saved Kentucky and in a best of three I think I won. I know Podolski scored two in the first game and I won on a penalty shoot-out and in the second Szczesny came running out of his goal and missed the ball entirely, going full Almunia and he made Sturridge do the dance celebration.

I can’t quite remember what happened in the third game but I do recall him rage-bouncing the controller off the floor and it ended up in the thing we have beside the fire to hold the briquettes so I’m assuming it didn’t not go well for him. Then the Arseblog German Shepherd tried to console him by slurping him in the face so it was all good.

There’s nothing happening from an Arsenal point of view other than Roy Hodgson says Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit for the World Cup, which is good news I suppose. Until he comes onto the field in a game and his knee explodes like some bloke’s head in Game of Thrones.

But that’s ok, I heard we’re getting Stefan Malz back on loan just in case we need more midfield depth. He’s being carried to London Colney on a stretcher by Junichi Inamoto and Amaury Bischoff PI because, unfortunately, he’s now paralysed from the eyes down but we’re hopeful he can play a significant part in our season anyway.

Time for a sandwich of some kind. Have a good Sunday.
