Arsenal Holdings plc - Directorate changeArsenal Holdings plc (the "Company") announces that David Dein has left
Arsenal Football Club and has ceased to be a director of the Company.Peter Hill-Wood, Chairman of the Company, would like to express his gratitude
for the many years of loyal service given by David Dein to Arsenal Football
Club and regrets that irreconcilable differences between Mr. Dein and the rest
of the board have necessitated a parting of the ways.In light of recent speculation as to the ownership of the Company, the

The reason behind is departure is speculative at the moment but from what I've been told Dein wanted to sell up to Kroenke, the others weren't having it. More on tomorrow's main blog.

Cant believe that Dein wanted to sell out to america !! I thought he'd be on Hill-Woods side and Wengers over that one, he's been good for arsenal but if its true he wanted to sell to Kroenke then i guess he had to go, we want to keep the club where it is with the people we have owning it still
VERY bad news - Dein is the only board member for whom I have a great deal of respect, and the only one I was afraid of losing if Kroenke took over. The rest of them are a bunch of money grabbing cunts, who, despite what they say, have no respect at all for tradition. Dein was a visionary - without him, we're in the shit, and I'd much rather see Kroenke take over with Dein on board than have the rest of them any longer. Cunts.
[...] to Arseblogger for getting this story out before Sky Sports and [...]
Wow what a bombshell, the tango man is a true Arsenal visionary, responsible for numerous off and on the field success's
For sure i would rather Dein be there if this fucking yank is coming in, Dein knows everything, included what toilet paper Cesc likes to wipe his ass with, to think of Arsenal without Dein is like Ben with out Jerrys.
Many Arsenal fans will be pissed off if yankedoodle steals control,
At least we've got wikki wikki Hill-Wood still in there.
My opinion - Dein is a financial realist. He knows that Arsenal need lots of money to compete in the coming seasons. He knows the best way of getting it quickly is bringing in massive investment (almost certainly from overseas). He probably appreciates that the new ground is a slow revenue gatherer rather than a quick one. The other big three will be able to buy who they want this summer with cash that they have in the bank. If Arsenal buy it will be financed by more debt which always puts Wenger off. The others are traditionalists and if all football club boards had these sort of people then the Premiership would be a better place.
The wind of change is blowing and it may not be a bad thing. Sad to see Double D go, he has done a lot for the Arse. Change may actually be a good thing, think about it......
To quote a famous American. This day shall forever live in infamy !!!!
Thats a bomb! double D had great vision and was arguably Wenger's closest ally in Arsenal. I am not sure if Wenger's contract is sorted out. This could change things.
I just got back from the pub, and im pretty wankered to be honest, but ive been talking about this with my mates, and we all agree it sucks ass that DD has gone, but the most important cog in the Arsenal wheel will always be Wenger, with out Wenger we would truly be fucked.
We all hope this doesn't effect Arsene's position.
Well I must say I am shocked.
It probabaly came about with the board insisting that everyone signs a contract not to sell their shares for a year.
Dein would have refused and then that was it.
So it seems he was definately pushing for bigger investment by the yank, which may not be a bad thing if it gives extra cash for the team and eases up on the debt a bit.
Relax boys. DD is a genius. I get the feeling he has a deal in place with the yank. He sells his shares to incite a take over and once its complete the Yank puts DD back in charge.
Bloody americans - they just have to cause probs where ever they go! Look at what takeover talks did to the Hammers season, and now its causing probs at the arse...not happy! Still dont beleive thats the whole story though, wenger & dein built towards a long-term goal of a self-sustaining club, where there is no need for big buying as if you have the best youth on the planet then they will come thru hence not requiring any buying...and trust me this current team is the first proper batch, and once they peak there wont be any dip in form (and plenty of trophies!). The funny thing is, and I beleive this whole-heartedly, if the arse got bought over by yankee-scum and wenger was given a 'war-chest' he still wouldnt buy!!!
This is shocking news for me, personally I always believe that Arsenal is where it is today because of Dein, and that with him also there's a much better future.
I have this feeling that DD is not finished with Arsenal yet, I think there's going to be an alliance between him and Kroenke. A take over is more imminent now than ever, it's just a matter of time. It will be good for the club under the current level of competition at the top level of the premiership.
Unlike Dein, the present board members have not seen the change yet, the truth is, when you refuse to embrace change you are blown away by it. Dein has always been a visionary, he wouldn't become blind overnight, I think he's seen something that others have refused to accept. Let's wait and see.
Let us hope the uncertainty does not tramsmit to the players and to Wenger of course esp now that Spurs are teh opponents
Be very, very afraid. David Dein was THE driving force on the Arsenal Board. Before he joined the Board in 1983 we had won ONE Premiership (1971), TWO FA Cups (1971 and 79) and ONE Fairs Cup (1970) in 30 Years. Count up the trophies since 1983 - that's how good Dein is. Now we have a Board of old duffers without a football brain between them. Without Dein there would have been no Wenger and no Bergkamp. Without Dein the Board will be content with bumbling along being a 'jolly good club' - as they, and their fathers did for the 30 years before David Dein.

If its all speculation where did that all come from above ?
Arseblogger - just had it confirmed that it is not speculation.......
