Saturday round-up

Shhhh, my head, she hurts. Urgh.

So a whole pile of ex-Arsenal folk turn up today at the Grove. Tony Adams is the assistant manager of Portsmouth, Kanu might be fit enough to play up front while Sol Campbell will play in defence.

Regular readers will know that Sol’s walk out last year, during the West Ham game, didn’t go down well with me and it seriously tainted his time at the club. He told Arsene Wenger he wanted to go abroad and that’s why Arsenal released him without a fee. Perhaps ‘abroad’ just means outside London for Cambpell. Still, what he did in the years previously can’t be overlooked and he was a massive (heh) and important player for us. There’s simply no way he can be compared to the cuntosity of Ashley Cole. The fact that his return is met with more indifference than anything else tells its own story. I hope he does well at Portsmouth but I hope he has a stinker today.

In team news it’s as you would expect. We’re still without Henry, Gallas, Rosicky and the long termers. I’m hoping for a 4-4-2 today.

In other news the draw for the Champions League semi-final took place yesterday we got PSV Eindhoven. Not the worst by any means. We’ve got a good record against them and let’s hope that continues. It’s a story for next year though.

Julio Baptista has admitted he’s found it hard to adapt to English football. The Brazilian, who is looking much leaner and fitter than when he first arrived, said:

I did not think it would be this difficult. I thought I would come here and be able to start helping my team-mates sooner. I thought I would adapt to the English game.

But he’s confident he can make his mark, saying:

If I get a run, I know I can produce my best goalscoring form.

I hope so. We’ve certainly not seen anything like the form he produced in Spain.

Now, that’s about that. I have to eat a big, dirty fry then find a stream for the match. Oh, and did I say *boilk*? I really should have. Twice.
